A moorish can’t stop seasoning. Rich, warming and earthy with body-oddy — this savoury yet sweet seasoning will bend your mind! For adding insane oomph to things like chilli con carne, Mexican pulled beef, or beans, slow cooked meats, gravy, stews, sweet treats and more. (Chilli chocolate brownies anyone?).
THE STORY BEHIND OUR WINTER CHILLI SALTS
We were asked recently by The Big Chill Festival here in NSW to hold their chilli eating competition on the big stage.
Along with presenting and being lead judge, my job was to come up with the concept for heats and finals that would test the greatest chilli heads in the region.
To test these utter psychos I brought my favourite terminally silly hot chillies grown organically on the Crack Fox Farm (which they had to consume raw) — and our delicious spicy condiments to wash them down with.
For the finals I conceptualised the idea of a tequila slammer-style scenario where the finalists would have to lick a chilli salt I’d created, shot our hot sauce range and then eat a stupidly hot chilli.
I wanted flavourful chilli salts for this. Inspired by the season of winter, I wanted to encapsulate the feeling of “comfort” and “warming” in a little amber jar. And so Chocolate Chilli, and Smoked Tomato were born.
Medium heat recreated for the masses. All organic ingredients and sustainably sourced sea, Celtic and pink river salt.
All ingredients are certified organic, or chemical-free. Produce sourced from local regenerative farms and our own backyard. 100% natural, contain no nasties, no anti caking agent (551) , no citric acid (330), no refined sugars, just real food.
